Chevy knows cool when it sees it, and I've been very impressed with the vehicles coming out of Chrysler for the past few years on looks alone.  Chevy of course has the Corvette and the SSR, but the gauntlet has been thrown down in the battle of the It-Cars.  I saw one of these rolling down Middlesex Turnpike the other day and for a moment I thought I was looking at a modified PT...

The Chevy HHR

From USA Today article Chevy turns out bold, useful package in 2006 HHR:

...Styling is neat. Some folks think it looks too much like the Chrysler PT Cruiser and marks Chevy as a late-comer to that market segment. But there's enough difference, especially if you see them together, to mute that argument and show that HHR has its own aesthetic credibility. Besides, what's wrong with having another good- and unusual-looking small vehicle?...

Nothing I suppose, unless it looks almost exactly like another small good and unusual looking vehicle. Making both vehicles somewhat less unusual looking. But I have no real objections. The HHR is a fine looking car. I definitely prefer my PT, but if I didn't have Vanessa, I'd definitely consider this vehicle.

If I could get it with a turbo of course.  And purple wouldn't hurt.
