Members of the Champion Tree Project International recently bequeathed, as a Christmas gift, to the Washington National Cathedral, a seedling. Giving the gift of a seedling is cute, but what makes this seedling so special is that it germinated from a pinecone dropped by "Methuselah", a particular bristlecone pine tree growing at an altitude of 11,200 feet in the White Mountains near the California-Nevada border. This tree currently holds the distinction of being the oldest known living tree in the world at 4,770 years. Cool! (Yahoo News Story)
