Ever had that sinking suspicion that someone is not being honest with you? Today I revisited the kitten page at the shelter's website, and all the kittens we took home that day are gone (page was updated on 11/28), but look who is still listed as available...

"Kristen" the other kitten I showed an interest in and was then told she was spoken for is also still listed as available.
I'm getting annoyed.
EDIT: If you are wondering why I might doubt the shelter staff told me the truth, consider that if we had taken home 3 kittens from the litter, we would have left behind the three boys from the litter, which would mean that since folks are asked to adopt in pairs, at least one kitten would be left as the "odd man out". In reading the description of "Kristen", the other kitten I was interested in, I see that the shelter is asking for her to be adopted with her brother as they are "bonded" and very close. Thus if I had adopted Kristen, I would have split up that pair. The sad thing is if the shelter had just been honest with me I probably would have adopted them as a pair, but since I was offering to take more than just a pair, but not two pairs, they maneuvered us into taking a kitten that was already "unpaired". That's my paranoid theory anyway.
