Add South Carolina to the list of wacko states that have something against letting evolution be taught in the science class.
This is all so god damned depressing.

"This is all so god damned depressing"
Is an Atheist allowed to say "god damned"? :) I noticed you used a lower case g, does that reference any god as opposed to the Catholic God? Tom Re: Retards at Work

Heh, these common expressions do not imply belief. An atheist can say anything and remain an atheist if the underlying beliefs (or lack thereof) do not change.
When I was a believer I was concerned with capitalizing "God" to refer to the Christian god, nowadays not so much. Re: Retards at Work

We had a long discussion abotu this on EAForums about 2 weeks ago.
The problem is that Christians don't have a name for their god, preferring to call him "God." But god isn't always a proper noun. The religious may want to treat it that way all the time, but they shoudln't take offense by misinterpreting it as trying to denegrate "God." Personally, I switch back and forth, and I used to do it fairly willy-nilly. Now I try to be more cognizant of what I am doing. If I am refering to the specific Christian god, in a particular context, I will often capitalize "God." But, very often, "god" does not require capitalization, especially when prefaced, ac in the phrase "Christian god." There, it is not a proper noun. Like "Fred's dad." Further, some people aren't theists but may buy into a less personified idea of "god" -- in which case they may actually be using the word to refer to something different than God. *shrug* Re: Retards at Work

Actually, I was just joking. I couldn't give two shits how Chuck uses god or God.

Chuck, I'll gladly use both a login AND comment verification if it will cut down on this kind of crap. (The spam, that is, although I'd also do it if I thought it would stop the ID'ers from messing with the science class curriculum.)

who cares if you capitalize god. i capitalize nothing, it is a waste of time. its a rediculous throw back from those stupid monks who thought making the first letters in a page fancy would be cool. like the king who thought ties were a nice fashion its a throw back....part of a bigone era (and like the tie, capitals are just another leash around your neck)...no one is special enough to have a capital letter in their name if we're supossed to be equal with every one else. if you think about this you can see the logic in it. if you do away with the capital letters all together there will be no chance of accidently insulting some one by not capitalizing their name.
