Here's my silly dog Cassie, all scrunched up under my wife's chair and desk to avoid me picking her up.  Cassie is afraid I'm going to drop her (never have, mind you) so when she gets it in her head that I might pick her up, she hides.

Fortunately I was able to entice her out from under the desk with a treat.

And then of course, I picked her up.
