'Tis the Season to Start Shredding
Well it's the end of the year, and that means (apparently) getting rid of financial records that are more than 7 years old. Seriously, we're not pulling an Enron here... this stuff is from like 1995, 1994, and earlier. Our poor little shredder is beat because we had stuff going all the way back to the early 90's. In the end, we filled two giant trashbags with shreddings. Happy New Year everyone, I'm celebrating with a new cold. Yipee!

We used the fireplace for that last year.
It was like a blast furnace. Seriously. Dangerously hot. We won't be doing that again. Better to burn stuff a little at a time. Re: 'Tis the Season to Start Shredding

Incidentally, I remember working on the naval base in Newport and looking out the window at the big vent they had for the shredder room. A huge hose that pointed out to a dumpster. Every day I was there I could go and watch the shreddings falling like snow as they filled up the dumpster. Tons of the stuff.

What Chuck doesn't know is that was only 1995, 1996, 1997. We still have about 1989-1994 to go. I never threw anything out. That is going to change this year. I'm doing a clean sweep.
