Name That Movie #13 -- Double Feature Part 1

Thanks James for your last name-that-movie post. Grab your popcorn, because this week Unbecoming Levity is offering a double feature! Why? Well, it could be in honor of Thanksgiving, or it could be to quickly get past #13 for those trischadecaphobes out there, or it could be because I'm an insecure competitive male and basically I want to be caught up to James. Why ask why? You may find these films difficult, because they are old, but both of them are well known classic pictures. Anyway, here's the first film, and stay tuned for the second...

Below is an image from a movie. If you can guess the movie via that one image, do so, if not, there will be links to further images. The second image should be more obvious, and the third image even moreso, and so on. When you are ready to make a guess, make sure you indicate how many images it took before you got it. Please try not to read the comments before you guess!

I know that this one is, but it took me 2 images to get it. That 2nd image is a classic scene. I had narrowed it down to 2 images after the first one. So many movies contain an homage to this one with a meteorite that sometimes it's tough to tell.

Of course #3 confirms it and there can be no question after #4. The Blob!

As soon as I saw the first picture I knew it was the Blob. The guy poking it with a stick is about the only part of the movie I remember, tho.

I thought it was the Blob on image one, but needed image two to confirm. It leaps and creeps and glides and slides!

Guessed "The Blob" on the first try because I remember scoffing at the perfect roundness of the little meteor. That's not to say that I was sure, but it was the only guess I could offer. :-)
