Who me?  You mean if I'm undecided I can get on television and stump for my candidate?  Oh I'm undecided all right!  I haven't decided exactly how low I'm willing to go in order to sway public opinion...

TalkingPointsMemo notes the Miami Herald's stunningly bad journalism:

...After the debate undecided voter Ted Lyons said Kerry sounded like "an idiot" in his response to several questions.

Then you look down into the article and see that Ted Lyons is a Republican political consultant. (Here he is hanging out with fellow members of the North Dade Republican Club.)...

Here's a tale of another undecided liar who stumped for his candidate in a CNN "undecided voter interview":

...Early in the program, Mr. Hemmer interviewed three undecided Florida voters about their hopes for last night's debate...

...I found it more than a bit curious that one of undecideds, Edward Martos, is a graduate student in public administration at the University of Miami. Public administration? You'd think that he'd certainly be a bit more informed about politics and public policy that the average guy. How could he still be undecided?

...Mr. Martos seems to be leading a double life. While claiming to be the politically independent president of a non-partisan campus group called the Council for Democracy, he is also very involved with the College Republicans, having served on committees to draft the UMCR constitution and organize a veterans memorial committee. He has also served as the Assistant Editor in Chief for the CR newsletter, Eye On Politics...

...The picture sealed it for me. The College Republican Edward Martos is the guy I saw on CNN. He's supposed to be on again this morning. Watch it and see for yourself...

Y'know folks this goes to show you shouldn't pay attention to the spin room, polls, or so-called undecided voter interviews.  Face it, listening to this crap is poison to a thinking mind. That's why after the debates, the other night, I shut the television off.  I don't need some PR weiner or bought and sold pundit telling me what I just saw.  I have a brain and I'll do my own thinking, thanks.  I can't count on the news organization to have properly researched what they're throwing up as "analysis" and commentary.  News organizations (except for maybe NPR) are not doing their jobs.

I take that back there is one news organization that is doing their job: FOX News.  Their job is to promote conservative bullshit and crap all over anyone who challenges Bush doctrine while trying to look like a respectable news organization.  They are very good at this.  After all as I noted some time ago, there is no question that the globe is warming, there is no disagreement to that fact.  So if you look for "global warming" on the FOX website, where is it filed?  "Junk Science".

I got news for you, there's no such thing as "Junk Science"... if it really is junk, then it isn't science*, by definition.  But then, FOX News seems to think there is such a thing as "compassionate conservatism" as well, so there ya go.

James pointed me at some interesting articles on TalkingPointsMemo about FOX News' latest stunt... posting fake quotes and attributing them to John Kerry.

* It's a sad commentary on the state of the Bush administration that their lapdogs have to attack SCIENCE.  Bush doesn't trust smart people.  Smart people have a habit of poking holes in his fantasy world.  It serves his interests to have a populace which doesn't trust them either.  Don't worry about pollution, don't worry about stem cells, don't worry about yadda yadda yadda... them scientists have an agenda!
