Isn't this a great picture? My wife took this at her mother's house on July 3rd. She followed this critter around and snapped a number of shots, but this was the nicest.

Saw this shrub while I was getting a breakfast sandwich the other day before work. It was bedecked in dewdrops and sparkling in the morning sun. Check out the next two pix to see more...

Image Inversion

Check out the inverted images captured within the little spheres of water.

This was a pleasant sight to behold. I took an extra five minutes before work to contemplate this sparkling plant.

Dewdrops Galore

How's that for bizarre? You know sometimes you're just tooling along and you glance in a particular direction at just the right time, and there's the perfect photo, just waiting to be taken.

This evening, right around dusk, I leaned back in my chair and looked up at the ceiling. I only work out of the Burlington office occasionally, and so I am in a temporary cube which has a skylight over it.

When I looked up at first I had no idea what that strange object was.

Then I suddenly realized it was a mourning dove that had landed on my skylight and was resting there.

The ceiling over my desk slants upward as a four-sided pyramid, and then angles up from there in a cube to the skylight which is basically a dome of plexiglass.

Unfortunately when the bird finally spotted me standing on my desk snapping pictures, he pooped all over my skylight and flew off.

Ah well... maybe the next rainstorm will wash it clean.

I like the skylight. At night I see the moon and stars through it sometimes, and sometimes during the day I see clouds, or birds flying over, or even planes. But this was a first.

Burlington Sky North

The sky in Burlington, MA was full of beautiful puffy clouds when I went out for lunch today. I stopped a moment to snap a couple. This is facing north.

My daughter says the puffball in the middle looks like an upside down hotdog in a bun.

Here's a picture of the sky facing west. This is looking right over my office building. There was a real nice mix of clouds today, as you can see here... big puffy cumulus clouds down low and wispy cirrus clouds way up high.

Looks like a bed of soft cotton to me.

We had some sunshowers yesterday. I wished I was in a better spot where there wouldn't be buildings and powerlines in the picture... but rainbows are fleeting, so this is the only picture I got.

First Flower of 2006

I don't know if this is a crocus... I don't think so, I think a crocus tends to stand straight up whereas this flower is hunched over. My daughter and I found this together a few days ago.

Three new flowers around the same tree trunk have joined the first flower. Spring's coming!

Like magic here they are... now these are crocuses! They look a bit ragged but hopefully as it warms up they'll fill out. I look forward to this with great anticipation!

Morning Bath

On my way into work the oher day I spotted several goldfinches gathered around this puddle, unfortunately by the time I got my camera out to snap a pic, all but one had flown away.

Holy crap that is one huge mushroom! This thing is about 6 inches wide. Found this vaguely heart-shaped shroom growing on my front lawn last week.

And here's the same shroom about 6 days later. Yuck!! When I ran this over with the lawnmower today it released a gigantic cloud of spores. Eyewwww...

I love pictures of dew. The sun is usually low in the sky when dewdrops abound, and so they really glitter like jewels.
