As you can see, Pat spread out a towel to keep Lynnea from getting mud on the floor.

We also use this towel to clean off the dogs when they come in.

So uh, we've had some rain, see?

National Pet Authority Official Pet Owner License

Lynnea's birthday is coming, and Pat and I have decided to tone the presents down because Lynnea has more things than most kids her age. She has however been making a lot of noise about pets lately.

She wants a pet that is hers, and hers alone.

Pat and I have decided that now that she is going to be 8, perhaps she is ready to take care of her own pet. When I was her age I had a canary, and in subsequent years had guinea pigs, rabbits, and even a turtle.

Ultimately we'd like for Neya to be able to pick out her own pet, so at the party she will receive a filled out version of the above "official pet owner license" (created by yours truly).

The license was made in Canvas 7, and the animal images were snarfed from the net and cleaned up in PhotoShop. Believe it or not the most challenging part was the border of the certificate. What looks like thousands of blue lines really is in fact THOUSANDS of blue lines.

The license shown above is about 50% of actual size.

The other nite our mutts were raising a ruckus in the kitchen and trying to stick their noses under the kitchen gate. So we raised the gate to see if they would squeeze under it, and that is exactly what they did!
