London Zoo to Feature Humans

As reported in the article New exhibit at London Zoo - humans (AFP via Yahoo News):

..."We have set up this exhibit to highlight the spread of man as a plague species and to communicate the importance of man's place in the planet's ecosystem," London Zoo said.

The scantily-clad volunteers will be treated as animals and kept amused at the central London zoo with games and music.

"I actually think the fig leaves will be enough to cover us up, it's no worse than a swimming pool," said volunteer Simon Spiro, 19, from New Malden, south of the British capital...

Real Beauty

This is a subject I've commented on before. Basically the idea is that there is beauty in everyone. I don't buy into that one-size-fits-all mold of beauty (i.e. waif-thin-big-tits) and I generally find that many women that are idolized as beautiful look somewhat freakish to me. Because most women do not look like that, and I know many women I think are beautiful and yet none of them are supermodels. While walking through the Burlington Mall the other day I saw an ad for something called the "Dove Soap Campaign for Real Beauty"...

Jessica Rogers is an 8 year old athlete who competed in this year's National Junior Disability Championships in Tampa, Florida where she swam the 25-meter breast stroke. A few days later however she was denied access to certain rides at Busch Gardens (even a kiddy ride featuring six-inch deep water) because she has no legs...

Interesting article in the Cincinatti Post about how a kitten thrown from the Brent Spence Bridge over the Ohio River managed to grab on to the understructure of the bridge and was stranded there for 3 or four days before being rescued by highway workers...
